BIDF 2019 – detailed information

BIDF – Budapest International Documentary Film Festival

The competition, forum and presentation of the world’s latest international successful, full-featured, creative documentaries will be held in Budapest this year.

DATE: January 28, 2019 – February 3

LOCATION: Cinema City Arena, Budapest, 1087, Kerepesi út 9.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:

From nearly 30 countries around the world, more than 40 special, festival-winning projects are being to shown to fans of real stories, documentaries, films and film festivals, and to viewers of human fates, problems, and social issues.

We invite all filmmakers to be our guests, as well as the audience: after the screening of every film, the audience can meet the creators so the audience becomes a community of experiences through personal and shared experiences and conversation.

ABOUT THE SCREENED FILMS:

Naked reality on the film screen.

Creative documentaries are about us and are close to us: they tell real stories about real heroes. They’re entertaining, touching and they are making us think. The films of the 2019 festival also cover a variety of acute, even taboo themes. The most important topics are: generation differences and the changing world; wars, power and freedom; otherness; hope for a better life.
