A man in mid-life crisis in central Europe decides to fly to Hong Kong and take a job at a university there. In the big city, he is confronted with the fact that he understands nothing of the world around him, not only of Asia, but also of Hungary.
Shortly after his arrival, he visits the beach on Lamma Island, where he ponders whether there is anything left for him to do in the world. Fortunately for him, a dragon boat crew is recruited on Lamma, he boards the boat and his life takes a new direction. He realises he has nothing to focus on now but technique, keeping the rhythm and cheering others on loudly.
