Associate professor
Györgyi Vajdovich graduated at the Faculty of Humanities of the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in English and French Language and Literature in 1992 and in Aesthetics in 2001. She also completed a DEA in Film and Audiovisual Studies at the Université de la Nouvelle Sorbonne (Paris III) in 1994. She received her PhD degree at the Doctoral Programme of Aesthetics, ELTE University in 2006. The title of her thesis was “Theoretical and practical problems of literary adaptations”. She joined the ELTE Department of Film Studies in 1998 and she is full-time faculty member of the department since 2001. She teaches courses on early film history and Hungarian film history, film analysis, narratology, problems of adaptation and intermediality, translation of film studies texts from English to Hungarian, vampire films, genres in Hungarian film history and Bollywood films.
