Zsuzsanna Bak is a Hungarian writer, director and story editor. After graduating from English, Aesthetics and Pedagogy in 2012, she published three collections of poems and short stories, one of which was adapted for stage. Her first feature as a film writer, Curtiz (on Netflix Global), won the Grand Prix in Montreal in 2018. Uncle Zsiga, a short film was premiered at TIFF, The Mentor won Best Script in BELIFF, Order and Soul, her directorial debut documentary about illegal nuns during the communist regime, won Grand Prix at the Religion Today Film Festival, and was nominated for Best European Documentary at Astra Film Festival. Besides teaching writing, directing and editing, she is a constant applicant and participant at international labs and forums (Eureka Series Mania Scholarship, Midpoint Feature Launch, Eastweek, Cartoon Movies et al.) Since 2022, she has been developing her first international series projects while working as a screenwriter with prominent directors.
