György Pálos

PalosGyGyörgy Pálos is producer, film director, director of photography, scriptwriter, photographer. He has over twenty-five years of experience in the film industry, has been awarded the prestigious Béla Balázs Award, and has won several awards at national and international film festivals. He has been teaching at ELTE BTK Department of Film Studies since 2000, he has been associate professor since 2018. Between 2012 and 2015 he was visiting professor at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. He is board member of the Independent Hungarian Filmmakers Society, and member of the Hungarian Film Director’s Society. He has received his Doctor of Liberal Arts (DLA) degree in 2015 at the University of Theatre and Film Arts, Budapest.

Professional Activities & Affiliations

  • 1996–2010: Organizer and Shop Steward for INPUT (International Public Television Conference).
  • 1995–2010: Made more than 50 documentaries about pedagogical innovation in the Hungarian educational system.
  • 1993–: Hosts a call-in talk show on the independent “Radio Tilos” station, Budapest.
  • 1986–1990: Works as still photographer for feature films.
