Description of the Organisers:

By popular demand, we will screen again Gergő Somogyvári’s Fairy Garden, an award-winning documentary film at the Sarajevo and Verzio Film Festivals, with the support of the Háttér Society. After the screening, there will be a discussion with the filmmakers and the invited expert Karola Föglein, a sexual psychologist, moderated by Dorka Gyárfás.

Near Budapest, on the edge of the forest, a hut is hidden where two almost fairytale-like creatures, isolated from society, live their daily lives. Fanni, a 19-year-old trans teenager who has been shunned by her family, and Laci, a hard-bound homeless man. The two interdependent people try to create a family and a home in a kind of father-daughter relationship, struggling together with their circumstances. This intimate film gives a glimpse into an unfamiliar world, while telling the story of the importance of human relationships and unconditional acceptance through a strange coming-of-age story.
