Sarajevo Film Festival

The 17th Sarajevo Film Festival will be held from 22 to 30 July 2011.
Sarajevo Film Festival is an international film festival. Its specific aim lies in promoting and aiding the development of regional cinematography and authors. Its goal is to act as the main meeting point where international and regional cinema converge in a spirit of cooperation and cultural exchange through the presentation of the finest and most recent achievements in world cinema. Sarajevo Film Festival dedicates its Competition Programme solely to regional film, showing international and world premieres of films from Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey and UNMI Kosovo. The spirit of the festival is one of discovery and it strives to act as a catalyst for the development of South-Eastern European Cinema, particularly through its Co-Production Market CineLink, and the launching of the finest achievements in regional cinema on the wider European scene.

The Board of Selectors chooses and invites films to be presented in Sarajevo Film Festival Competition Programme sections

  • Children’s Programme
  • TeenArena Programme

Submission is open to films produced during the twelve months preceding the festival.

Festival screening formats are 35mm, HDCAM, DigiBeta, Beta SP and DVD.

The Festival gives priority to world and international premieres.

All film entries, unless otherwise specified, must be submitted to the Festival for selection by May 27, 2011. All submissions, documentation materials and videos must be sent fully pre-paid to the address as indicated on the entry form plus specifying the Festival programme that you are applying for.
