Don’t miss out – make sure you get your submissions in by 15th October 2017! Be sure to submit your film as soon as possible as only the first 500 entries will be judged!
Entry is FREE and open to all STUDENT FILMS UNDER 20 MINUTES long. Please read through our SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES, which have changed slightly since last year!
Why Watersprite?
There are several things which make Watersprite stand out; one is how international we are! Last year, we received submissions from over 40 countries around the world! We flew filmmakers from Iceland, Turkey and Siberia to Cambridge for the festival weekend. We want this year to be even bigger and better, but for this, WE NEED YOUR SHORTS. All nominees will be offered travel bursaries to help you get to Cambridge for the Awards Ceremony in February 2018.
We offer various technical awards, meaning that your film’s technical excellence is more likely to be recognised! These include prizes for editing, cinematography, production design and much more! There is also the unique Filmmaker of the Future prize, which is awarded to a film that tries to make a difference. The winner of this award is sent to Cannes Film Festival to participate in the producers’ workshop.
